Located on the University of British Columbia's campus, St. John's Hospice is a community-based facility providing holistic end-of-life care. Our interdisciplinary team works together to provide a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at St. John's Hospice. As an LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and respectful nursing care to patients, according to established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct head-to-toe assessments, monitor patient status, and communicate with the RN/RPN as needed.
  • Support and partner with the RN/RPN in the care of patients with complex or unpredictable outcomes.
  • Communicate with physicians, document patient care, and maintain accurate records.
  • Administer medications, respond to incidents, and participate in staff meetings and special projects.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification.
