Job Title: Automotive Technician

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at Barrie Auto Service Centre. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with commercial transport trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and Maintenance: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, ensuring all work is done to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, advising customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, developing and maintaining relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, offering mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
