We are currently in need of a 1A Hydrovac Operator. This role will primarily operate out of Saskatoon, with travel necessary to provide services throughout the province.
The nature of this position is physically demanding. We pride ourselves on a unique mentorship culture, offering competitive remuneration along with a comprehensive benefits and retirement package.
As a Hydrovac Operator, your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating hydrovac equipment
- Ensuring equipment and vehicles are maintained in a clean and functional state
- Successfully executing hydrovac excavation tasks, including utility line exposure, slot trenching, and soft digging
- Setting up and inspecting grounding and bonding procedures for hydrovac operations
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Adhering to company policies and procedures
- Utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and specialized safety gear
- Performing additional duties as necessary
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Class 1 driver's license with Air Brake Endorsement
- 1 to 3 years of prior Hydrovac experience
- Capable of lifting heavy loads (50+ lbs.) and working in various outdoor conditions
- Quick thinking and ability to adapt to changing conditions while maintaining professionalism under pressure
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Comfortable working near energized utilities
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Strong attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent
- This position is classified as safety-sensitive; all new hires will undergo a pre-access evaluation that includes drug and alcohol screening.
