We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Headwaters Health Care Centre.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient responses.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Coronary Care Level 1 (required), Level 2 (preferred).
- Current BCLS certification.
- ACLS Certification or to be completed within 3 months.
- Experience with arterial lines and central lines maintenance.
- Experience in a critical care setting (preferred).
- Completion of Critical Care Certificate (preferred) or commitment to enrolment and completion within 6 months.
- Experience with mechanical ventilation (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize care and adapt to unexpected change in patient acuity.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Acceptable performance and attendance records.
