Key Responsibilities- Prepare Building Layouts: Use measuring tools to ensure that building layouts are accurate and in compliance with building codes.
- Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Construct Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Install Windows, Doors, and Hardware: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Conduct Site Surveys: Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
- Work Schedule: Work a regular schedule of 30 to 40 hours per week.
- Language: English is the primary language used in the workplace.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Will train in the trade.
