About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team at 1432126 Ontario Ltd. As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the trade, working on a variety of projects and tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Building Layouts: Use measuring tools to ensure that building layouts are accurate and in compliance with building codes.
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Construct Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Install Windows, Doors, and Hardware: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Conduct Site Surveys: Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
  • Work Schedule: Work a regular schedule of 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English is the primary language used in the workplace.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Will train in the trade.
