Position Overview – Drywaller/Painter

At On Side Restoration, drywallers play a crucial role in the restoration and repair of both residential and commercial properties affected by unforeseen events. By expertly transforming damaged drywall into seamless walls and textured ceilings, our drywallers create the illusion of magic for our clients.

Painters contribute to the vision of our clients by applying vibrant, fresh finishes that enhance the aesthetic appeal of their spaces.

Qualifications for the Drywaller/Painter Role

  • Proven experience in construction settings with proficiency in using relevant tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Keen attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and pride in craftsmanship
  • A strong focus on safety practices
  • A valid driver's license and a clean criminal history (background checks are conducted)
  • Proficiency in English communication

Key Responsibilities...

As a Drywaller, your expertise includes:

  • Accurately measuring, cutting, and installing drywall panels
  • Removing old or damaged drywall materials
  • Installing metal corner beads to safeguard exterior corners
  • Filling joints, nail marks, holes, and cracks using appropriate tools
  • Taping and embedding joints effectively
  • Applying various texturing techniques
  • Preparing and protecting work sites

As a Painter, your skills encompass:

  • Assessing material requirements by measuring surfaces and reviewing project specifications
  • Stripping old finishes using solvents, heat, sanding, or other methods
  • Preparing surfaces by cleaning, filling imperfections, and sanding
  • Applying primer or sealer before painting, or sizing before wallpapering
  • Mixing and matching colors to achieve desired results
  • Utilizing brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to apply coatings
  • Creating various finishes through sponging, ragging, or layering techniques
  • Installing wall coverings made of paper, vinyl, or fabric

Additional Qualifications that may enhance your application:

  • Certification as a Drywall Finisher or Plasterer
  • Certification as a Painter
  • WHMIS training
  • First Aid certification

Important Information

Given the nature of our work, a rotating schedule for 24/7 on-call duties is a requirement.
