The Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre, located in Edmonton South, Alberta, is seeking an exceptional Housekeeping Manager to oversee our housekeeping operations. We pride ourselves on a culture that fosters excellence and empowers our team to surpass expectations and enhance guest experiences.
Position Overview:
As the Housekeeping Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service throughout the hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of room attendants to ensure efficient and timely cleaning of guest accommodations.
- Review and verify the completion of cleaning tasks by checking room attendants' worksheets and notifying relevant departments.
- Conduct inspections of all guest rooms post-cleaning to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of room status and communicate changes to housekeeping staff.
- Monitor the quality of cleaning through regular inspections and documentation.
- Prepare maintenance requests for furniture and fixtures requiring repair or replacement.
- Manage the cleanliness and inventory of linen closets and ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Assist in training new housekeeping staff and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Foster collaboration with other hotel departments to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a professional appearance and ensure all staff comply with grooming standards.
- Be proactive in addressing guest needs and feedback to ensure a positive experience.
Safety and Security:
- Maintain vigilance regarding unauthorized individuals on hotel premises.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Manage the Lost and Found items effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks indoors with a controlled environment.
- Frequent walking and standing throughout the workday.
- Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 15 lbs regularly and assist with heavier items as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in housekeeping, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
