Job Summary
The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Campus Wellness team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing primary health care to University of Waterloo students and their dependents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced clinical setting, adhering to established standards.
- Assess patients' physical or mental health, provide recommendations, and accurately document information.
- Provide care in complex situations with unpredictable outcomes, applying confidentiality standards.
- Perform crisis intervention, family planning, immunization clinics, alcohol counseling, nutrition advice, and health education.
- Rotate between Student and Family Health Clinics, functioning within all nursing assignments.
Qualifications
- RN graduate from a recognized School of Nursing and member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree.
- Current CPR or Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Completed recognized triage course or willing to obtain within one year of hire.
- Minimum 3 years providing patient care across the age continuum and dealing with health care issues.
- Experience with health promotion, public health, emergency, urgent care, or crisis intervention required.
- Current experience using an electronic medical record is an asset.
