Job Title: Whitetooth Grill Interim Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Manager to join our team at Whitetooth Grill. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the face of Whitetooth Grill, hosting and interacting with guests on a daily basis.
  • Represent Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to suppliers, sponsors, and business representatives in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Advocate for health and safety, ensuring a safe, clean working environment.
  • Manage scheduling in accordance with employment policies and labor targets.
  • Provide assistance in submitting payroll information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Contribute to and facilitate multiple administrative functions, including but not limited to inventory management, ordering, and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of quality food, service, and cleanliness.
  • Maintain effective communications through restaurant, department, and resort.
  • Represent Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to suppliers, sponsors, and business representatives in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop a successful and enthusiastic team of back-of-house employees each season, engaging in performance management and positive correction as needed.
  • Establish, communicate, train, and monitor back-of-house procedures while supporting the front-of-house team lead to do the same.
  • Manage the development and implementation of employee orientation and training.
  • Report on and evaluate successes and shortfalls at the end of each season.
  • Participate in the planning, execution, and follow-up of weddings, special events, and group functions.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous management experience is an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and service standards.
  • Extensive customer service and people management experience.
  • Previous experience with cash handling and administration.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Point-of-Sale software.
  • Current Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 3 an asset.
  • Postgraduate diploma, certification, or degree an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • May be exposed for periods of extreme weather on resort (snow, cold, rain, wind).
  • Flexibility in hours is required, including evening or weekend work.
  • Role requires extended periods of standing and ability to engage in lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • This role is designated as a 'Manager' under the Employment Standards Act of British Columbia and is exempt from overtime and statutory holiday pay.
