CPP Investments is a prominent institutional investor managing over $500 billion in assets. We are seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our financial planning and cost analysis capabilities. As a vital contributor, you will play a key role in developing performance metrics for distinct cost categories, assisting in financial forecasting, and managing month-end financial closures independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, refine, and sustain cost models, trend analyses, and performance dashboards utilizing advanced tools (e.g., Oracle, SQL) to extract and interpret data effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for various services and initiatives, emphasizing continuous improvement and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Finance teams to establish annual budgets and quarterly forecasts by engaging with all departments and product managers.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of cost allocation strategies and reporting frameworks.
- Support system enhancements by providing insights on requirements and facilitating user acceptance testing.
- Contribute to the development of cost governance documentation, internal control policies, and procedural guidelines.
- Draft supporting documentation for reviews, ensuring compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and reporting standards.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience (three to five years) in budgeting, forecasting, and cost variance analysis.
- In-depth understanding of asset management firms or financial institutions with a focus on business-oriented decision-making.
- Ability to embody CPP Investments' core values of integrity, collaboration, and performance excellence.
- Proven curiosity for understanding business processes and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical skills to address operational challenges and effectively communicate emerging risks or issues to management.
- Robust problem-solving abilities and familiarity with automation tools, data manipulation software, or planning applications (e.g., Python, Tableau, Oracle).
- Professional designations such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are advantageous.
