Platform Engineering Lead

At Interac Corp., we're shaping the future of digital payments in Canada. As a Platform Engineering Lead, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering innovative solutions that give Canadians control over their money.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stay ahead of the curve by keeping our tooling and processes up to date with our evolving needs.
  2. Collaborate with development and product teams to understand bottlenecks and mentor them on operational ownership.
  3. Improve internal tooling, infrastructure availability, and system configurations to support secure application development.
  4. Provide high-availability operational support and automated solutions across the environment.
  5. Support the development team and resolve developer issues in a timely and accurate fashion.
  6. Implement deep telemetry capabilities to provide ongoing success and performance metrics.
  7. Ensure infrastructure and application security by design and measure implemented security measures through the DevOps lifecycle.
  8. Stay up-to-date with cloud-native technologies and work hands-on for automation and cloud build at a proficient level.
  9. Understand security compliance and regulations, such as OSFI, GDPR, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001.

Requirements:

  1. Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Programming/Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  2. Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full-Time Capacity.
  3. 3+ years experience in software development.
  4. Ability to explain complex problems in simple language to non-technical people.
  5. Strong developer mindset, collaboration skills, and communication skills, including technical writing.
  6. Process-driven, strong documentation and organizational skills.
  7. Focused problem solver, strong troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  8. Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work.
  9. Good platform reliability engineering skills to ensure the platform you support is kept running 24/7.

Technical Skills:

  1. Knowledge of Bash, Python, and working with RESTful APIs.
  2. Experience with creating Ansible, Terraform playbooks.
  3. Experience in DevOps tooling and implementation.
  4. Experience with GiOps, Artifactory tools such as Jfrog/Nexus.
  5. Experience with Docker or other similar container technologies.
  6. Knowledge of Container Orchestration tools such as Openshift or Kubernetes.
  7. Experience in Cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS.
  8. Experience in event streaming technologies such as Kafka or Messaging Technologies such as JMS.
  9. Knowledge of Software defined routers such as Envoy or Nginx.
  10. Understanding of software design patterns.
