Our head office is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Saint John, NB. We are a CPA pre-approved training office, offering a comprehensive support program designed to facilitate candidate success as they work towards their designation. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals who are pursuing or planning to obtain their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will encompass:
- Executing month-end procedures, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Overseeing the Accounts Payable process
- Managing the company credit card program
- Conducting daily and monthly accounting and internal audit compliance activities
- Assisting in the preparation of external auditor requirements for year-end financial statement audits
- Engaging in financial projects as necessary
- Performing analysis and generating ad hoc reports
- Undertaking additional duties as required
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field and a commitment to pursuing an accounting designation
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong time management abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with JD Edwards is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Collaborative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
