Job Title: General Foreman - Utility Construction

Forbes Bros. Ltd. is seeking an experienced General Foreman to join our team in Surrey, BC. As a key member of our FB Bullet team, you will be responsible for overseeing shallow utility construction projects in the lower mainland.

The successful candidate will work closely with our operations team to ensure that all pre-site information is provided, attend to field operations and inspections as required, and delegate incoming work orders to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and work practices
  • Coordinate with clients on project sequencing and clarifications
  • Manage unit work or lumpsum work to ensure completion to client and bid specifications
  • Supervise and plan project execution, including manpower, equipment, and material needs
  • Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years in the construction industry, with at least one year in civil or underground utility construction
  • Prior experience as a Lead Hand or Supervisor leading and supervising multiple crews on project sites
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil construction methods, schedule, and plan reading
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills, attention to detail, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead a team of all different skill levels, lead by example, build consensus, actively listen, and engage crew members
  • Able and willing to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
  • Ability to work in field/site with travel and work hour flexibility to accommodate remote/site work schedules
  • Able to present a valid Class 5 Driver's License and an acceptable five-year drivers abstract
