As a Sport Shop Assistant at Canlan Sports, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and sales to all prospective customers in a friendly and timely manner in a clean and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities- Shop Operations
- Ensure shop opening and closing procedures are followed (shift dependent)
- Receive, securely store and mechanize product following established procedures
- Customer Service
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge and attend product knowledge seminars (both facility and vendor provided)
- Actively engage customers by greeting them upon their entry to the shop, maintaining a presence on the retail floor, and promoting Sports Shop products and services
- Inventory Management
- Monitor stock and ensure the shop and all inventory is kept clean
- Replenish and maintain shop products on the floor as needed
- Reporting and Safety
- Report to Sports Shop Supervisor all relative customer questions, suggestions or complaints
- Monitor and report any unsafe Health & Safety conditions
- Education and Experience
- Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset
- Skills and Abilities
- At least one year retail and/or customer service experience
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends)
- Strong hockey and/or skating knowledge
- Strong skate sharpening skills
- Cash handling experience through a POS system (preferred)
- Demonstrated computer skills, notably in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Neat appearance with a professional and positive attitude
- Great communication skills
- Thorough, organized, articulate and punctual
