Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspection and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough inspections of commercial vehicles to identify mechanical issues and diagnose problems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of commercial vehicles, including engine overhauls, brake adjustments, and suspension repairs.
  • Component Replacement: Replace faulty components with genuine or compatible parts to maintain the functionality and performance of commercial vehicles.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used to comply with regulatory requirements and facilitate efficient workflow.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, share knowledge, and deliver exceptional customer service to fleet managers, drivers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate: Possess a Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate, with red seal preferred.
  • Driver's License: Hold a BC Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 with air brakes or Class 1 is considered an asset).
  • Tools and Equipment: Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided).
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Be mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
  • Technical Skills: Use of computerized scanning equipment and ability to use digital technology/mechanical software.
