Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for testing, inspecting, and servicing fire alarm systems and devices, as well as programming and installing new systems.

Responsibilities

  • Test and inspect fire alarm systems and devices to ensure they are functioning properly
  • Program and install new fire alarm systems and devices
  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures
  • Demonstrate systems to customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications
  • Look for all levels of experience in fire alarm and security installation, service, and inspection
  • Follow local and national security standards

Requirements

  • CFAA License
  • Prior experience with fire alarm systems, monitoring systems, emergency lighting systems, and security systems preferred
  • Siemens and/or Mircom ESD experience preferred
  • Programming experience preferred
  • Ability and desire to learn all facets of the Fire Alarm Technician role in fire alarm and security
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Customer-oriented mentality
  • Ability to work within the territory and surrounding areas

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, standing for prolonged periods, lifting 35 lbs, and other requirements common to a Fire Alarm Technician
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Differentiate color coding of cables
