Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

GS Construction is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and trenchers to excavate and move materials on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to meet project deadlines
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill tanks as needed
  • Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors using two-way radios and other communication equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment and maintain a clean and organized work site
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and physical stamina
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various locations
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment required
