Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Bourbon Street Grill. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and supporting our culinary team in preparing delicious meals for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
- Portion and wrap foods
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
- Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
- Fast-paced environment

- Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
- Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination
- Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
- Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload
- Offers phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring
