Role Overview
As a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Establishing a robust, scalable automated quality management strategy that empowers engineers to release frequently and confidently.
- Promoting a shift-left approach by taking ownership of the introduction of processes, practices, and tools that balance efficiency and accountability.
- Developing and implementing processes and tools to support deployment pipelines in collaboration with agile teams and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
- Executing effective quality assurance strategies within the AWS environment, working closely with SRE teams to ensure seamless integration of QA processes in AWS-based workflows.
- Managing and enhancing the reporting of essential quality health metrics, including test coverage and change failure rate (CFR).
- Leading Quality Engineering discussions with Agile Teams, Product Teams, Design Teams, and Leadership Teams.
- Mentoring and coaching Test Engineers/SDETs in technical aspects of Quality Engineering.
- Creating test automation frameworks utilizing industry-standard tools.
- Automating web applications across different browsers and conducting Accessibility Testing.
- Applying web design and user experience principles, comprehensive web application testing, and coordinating with development teams and release planning.
- Committing to continuous learning, with the company's support, in areas outside of development (Test/SRE) to enhance the team's ability to deliver value.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required, along with:
- Hands-on experience with Javascript/Typescript programming languages and a strong understanding of Web services (RESTful/SOAP) and UI testing.
- Knowledge of automation frameworks.
- Experience with Test Management Tools, preferably Jira.
- Experience integrating test automation projects with cloud-based continuous platforms such as Sauce Labs, Browser Stack, or similar.
- Strong expertise in implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
- Advanced knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) processes, including quality metrics, test case creation, maintenance flows, requirement validation, and reporting.
