Position Summary
Thales is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Innovation Team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data engineering solutions that support our naval platforms in-service support programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the definition of a data platform architecture that meets the business needs of the program.
- Support data initiatives such as Technical Data Package management, data migration, and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) of complex assets.
- Deploy and maintain tools part of the TCDS data platform.
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Develop data mappings and lineage.
- Develop data quality rules.
- Develop data orchestration workflows infrastructure.
- Deploy and monitor AI/ML models in production.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 7 years of experience with data engineering toolsets such as AirFlow, Argo, dbt, Nifi.
- 7 years of experience with data architecture, data modeling techniques, and languages.
- 7 years of experience in data quality benchmarking and analysis.
- Experience with scripting technologies such as Python, R.
- Knowledge of agile software engineering methodologies.
- Ability to work on well-defined projects with minimal supervision.
- Proven problem-solving and analytic skills with a desire to learn.
- Capable of developing strong relationships across the business through excellent customer service and business acumen.
