Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a challenging role with a leading equipment rental provider? United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service) to join our team.

This is a highly skilled position that requires the ability to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited or no supervision. As a Field Diesel Mechanic, you will use your skills to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment
  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment
  • Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
