We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated FX Sales Associate to join our Institutional Foreign Exchange (FX) sales team at National Bank Financial Markets. As a key member of our client-facing sales team, you will be responsible for covering existing clients, preparing client presentations, pricing and executing FX transactions, and supporting the group's sales efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely and consistent market commentary, prepare client presentations, and price and execute FX transactions
- Understand each client's specific needs and requirements and provide tailored solutions to optimize their FX trading and hedging strategies
- Focus on business development, client onboarding, and sales and origination growth of the business
- Assess credit valuations adjustments and perform potential future exposure calculations as required
- Develop new products, pricing tools, and other initiatives to drive business growth
- Collaborate with colleagues in Financial Markets to identify cross-asset coverage and business development opportunities
- Develop and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders in operations, credit, and legal
- Work closely with internal teams, such as trading, research, and operations, to ensure smooth execution of client transactions and provide post-trade support
You will report to the Co-Heads of FICC Institutional Sales and be accountable to the Managing Director, Institutional FX Sales in Toronto. The Institutional FX group is responsible for developing and originating FX transactions (Spot, Forward, Non-Deliverable Forwards, FX options) for National Bank of Canada's existing and prospective clients in Canada and the United States. The group works closely with National Bank Financial Markets' fixed income, debt, and equity capital markets and investment banking teams.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation would be an important asset
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working full-time in a finance function or the financial industry
- Strong quantitative skills, mathematically inclined, and a vivid interest in the global macro environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional maturity with an ability to engage and communicate with highly skilled clients
- Driven with a high desire to succeed, the ability to work well in a team, and in a high-pressure environment
- Previous experience with or knowledge of FX options is preferred
- Previous client-facing experience is an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are needed to analyze market data and provide valuable insights to clients
