About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Regular Part-Time Driver (Material Handler) to join our dynamic Logistics team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of blood products, equipment, and personnel, supporting our mission of saving lives.

Formula for Success

  • You will ensure that blood and blood products are transported according to strict safety measures and procedures, maintaining appropriate temperatures throughout the process. Your responsibility extends to ensuring the safety of all employees, donors, and volunteers traveling with you.
  • Your meticulous attention to detail and adherence to protocols will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our life-saving resources. You will conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and equipped.
  • You will collaborate effectively with team members, coordinating schedules and routes to optimize delivery efficiency. Your strong communication skills will enable you to provide clear updates and maintain open lines of communication throughout the transportation process.

What You Can Expect

  • This role requires flexibility as shifts are based on operational needs, encompassing days, evenings, weekends, overnights, and statutory holidays.
  • Travel within Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick will be required.
  • You will be physically capable of loading, unloading, pushing, and carrying heavy clinic equipment and supplies, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs.), pulling, and pushing up to 136 kg (300 lbs.) on a wheeled platform.
