Job Summary

The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to these interventions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current ACLS/BLS certification
  • Coronary Care Level 1 or equivalent certification
  • Post-graduate courses in Cardiology, Respiratory Systems, and Physical Assessment
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession
  • Current progressive nursing experience in Adult ICU/CCU
