Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Child and Youth Development Staff. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading programs for children aged 0 to 12 years old, facilitating games and activities, and building meaningful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead programs for children aged 0 to 12 years old in a positive and professional manner
  • Facilitate games and activities for various children's programs to promote active and creative play
  • Build meaningful relationships with children, parents, YMCA members, visitors, and colleagues
  • Navigate challenging conflict situations using YMCA standards and procedures
  • Perform general administrative duties and record keeping responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA policies and ensuring they are maintained among all members and staff
  • Assist with training new staff/volunteers in procedures and practices
Requirements
  • Current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR level C & AED (valid within 2 years)
  • Experience working with children – preferred
  • Demonstrate high level of customer service skills
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • 3 professional references
