As an Environmental Biologist at Duka Environmental Services Ltd., you will engage in a variety of essential tasks aimed at promoting environmental health and sustainability. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week.
Work EnvironmentYour work will primarily take place in outdoor settings, often in wet or damp conditions, and may involve exposure to odorous substances. The role may require travel to remote locations and various sites associated with a chemical and pharmaceutical company.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and manage health information databases.
- Perform administrative duties as required.
- Supervise a small team of biological technologists and technicians.
- Compile and analyze statistical data from health care institutions.
- Conduct experiments related to plant and animal growth, heredity, and breeding.
- Study, identify, and classify various animal specimens.
- Prepare research papers and educational materials.
- Design and implement health and wellness initiatives.
You will be responsible for supervising 1 to 2 personnel.
Environmental and Resource ManagementYour role will include conducting environmental assessments and managing municipal and industrial waste.
Research and DevelopmentInvolvement in product development and conducting experimental research will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program in a related field (1-2 years).
- Experience: A minimum of 1 to 2 years in a similar role or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong time management capabilities.
This position may require a criminal record check and is subject to being bondable. Travel expenses will be covered by the employer.
