Job Summary:

Waste Connections US, Inc. is seeking a skilled Union Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team in Vancouver, Washington. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our truck fleet.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, chassis, and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels, and tires.
  • Inspect equipment and trucks for condition, operations, parts, and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document parts usage and repair times.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Perform required safety protocols while working on vehicles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
  • Extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
  • CDL permit within.
  • CDL license within.
  • Must provide own personal tools.
  • Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
