Job Title: Estimator (Curtain Walls/Window Walls/Railings)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at The Lignum Group, specializing in curtain walls, window walls, and railing systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in façade or exterior construction, specifically with experience in one or more of these systems, though proficiency in all is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for curtain wall, window wall, and railing systems based on architectural plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop accurate and competitive bid proposals.
• Conduct material take-offs and prepare quantities and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, budget constraints, and industry standards.
• Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and delivery schedules.
• Present and communicate estimates to internal teams and clients, addressing any questions or clarifications.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, with a focus on curtain walls, window walls, or railing systems.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading architectural and engineering drawings; familiarity with industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD).
• Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to assess risks and opportunities within a bid.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
• Education: Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience in value engineering and providing alternative solutions to reduce project costs.
• Understanding of regional building codes and standards.
