Role Overview

Objective: The Technical Operations Section Manager is responsible for implementing strategic goals and objectives for all products within the manufacturing facility. These objectives encompass process enhancement initiatives, technical issue resolution, overseeing product transfers, lifecycle management, and fulfilling business requirements. The manager is tasked with recruiting and developing departmental personnel while supervising the daily operations of the technical operations team, reporting directly to the Director of Technical Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical support team, providing product and process expertise for manufacturing operations of marketed products, ensuring effective problem resolution, regulatory compliance, and adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Oversee and conduct significant product investigations, including project documentation and scientific recommendations regarding product lot acceptability and quality assurance.
  • Facilitate technology transfers from research and development or third-party development organizations to or from manufacturing facilities.
  • Identify and implement process modifications aimed at enhancing product quality and/or reducing production costs for marketed products.
  • Manage subordinate activities related to performance evaluations, development plans, promotion recommendations, and compensation management.
  • Significant Work Activities: Prolonged periods of continuous sitting (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour workday).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline, preferably in chemical engineering or life sciences.
  • Comprehensive understanding of good manufacturing practices.
  • Required education and experience combinations: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years; Master’s degree with 6+ years; or Doctorate with 4+ years.
