Job Title: Developmental Service Worker

Momentum is seeking a skilled and compassionate Developmental Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with special needs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic individual to work in a group home setting, providing support and guidance to clients with varying levels of need. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide suicide and crisis intervention, resolving conflict situations and promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs, accompanying them to appointments and social outings as required.
  • Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience an asset, but not required.
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Judgement, client focus, and flexibility.
