Job Description:
The University of Calgary seeks an Executive Director to lead the Hunter Hub, a pioneering initiative in entrepreneurial thinking and innovation. As a key member of the university community, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan to drive entrepreneurial thinking and innovation across the institution.
About the Role:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to advance entrepreneurial thinking and innovation at the University of Calgary.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Lead the development of new programs and initiatives to support entrepreneurial thinking and innovation, including partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Hunter Hub team, ensuring effective management of operations, finances, and resources.
- Collaborate with senior university leaders to secure funding and resources to support the Hunter Hub's mission and objectives.
- Develop and implement metrics and outcomes to measure the impact of entrepreneurial thinking and innovation initiatives.
- Engage with the Advisory Council on Entrepreneurial Thinking to ensure alignment with the university's goals and objectives.
Qualifications and Expertise:
- Undergraduate degree in a related field; a master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of ten years' experience in an entrepreneurial environment (start-up or SME).
- A high degree of personal integrity.
- Professional and communication skills commensurate with an executive position.
- Familiarity or experience working in a post-secondary setting would be an asset.
- Credibility with the entrepreneurial community is important.
- Passionate about entrepreneurial thinking and its impact on community.
- Ability to inspire a broad range of stakeholders to support and engage with the Hunter Hub.
- Energy to build and create a new initiative with clear direction and outcomes.
- The capacity and desire to be a strong ambassador of the University of Calgary's goals and aspirations.
Salary Range: $168,750 to $206,000 per annum, negotiable based on skills and experience.
