In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional oral healthcare to patients. Your expertise in dental hygiene procedures and commitment to patient education will contribute to the overall well-being of individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough dental hygiene assessments and screenings to evaluate patients' oral health status.
- Perform meticulous teeth cleaning and scaling procedures to remove plaque, calculus, and stains.
- Administer fluoride treatments and dental sealants to promote preventive care.
- Educate patients on optimal oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing and flossing techniques, and the importance of nutrition for dental health.
- Capture dental radiographs (X-rays) and interpret diagnostic images as needed.
- Provide essential chairside support to dentists during procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of all treatments performed.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure a sterile and safe clinical environment.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
- Active registration and licensure with the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Alberta (CRDHA).
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in all dental hygiene procedures and techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals.
