About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at Racar Canada Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components that meet our high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in mechanical systems and components
  • Design and develop new mechanical systems and components, including power plants, machines, and equipment
  • Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards
  • Develop and implement maintenance standards, schedules, and programs to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime
  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Plan and manage projects, including preparing material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications
  • Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance projects
  • Supervise and review the work of technicians, technologists, and other engineers to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards
  • Assess business opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth and innovation
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate potential risks and ensure business continuity
  • Lead and instruct groups of engineers and technicians to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Commission systems and components to ensure they meet design specifications and industry standards
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on design and development
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components, including power plants, machines, and equipment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and instruct groups of engineers and technicians
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, including OSHA and ASME
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required
