About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operational Risk Advisor to join our team at National Bank. As a key member of our IT Delivery sector, you will play a critical role in overseeing the activities of a squad dedicated to managing operational, technological, and cyber risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for all matters related to operational, technological, and cyber risk management between the squad and the supported IT delivery unit.
  • Serve as a reference for squad members and provide guidance on risk management best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies and plans to ensure the bank's IT infrastructure and operations are secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Present the sector's risk posture to executives and stakeholders, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to risk management, ensuring the bank's risk profile is accurately reflected.
  • Take functional leadership of the squad and drive strategic changes to improve risk management practices and processes.
  • Assess technological risks related to IT infrastructures, applications, and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement security controls and risk mitigation measures, ensuring the bank's IT systems and data are protected.
  • Facilitate communication between your team and other departments, ensuring a cohesive and effective risk management approach.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced risk management professional with a strong background in IT risk management, cybersecurity, and leadership. You will have a degree in computer science, risk management, information security, or a related field, and at least 7 years of experience in risk management, including 2 years in a functional leadership role.

You will have in-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks (ISO 31000, NIST) and security standards (ISO 27001), as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to lead, motivate, and develop your team, and demonstrate political acumen and influential leadership.
