Position Overview
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a vital role within a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional services and programs to our clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete recruitment cycle in partnership with hiring managers, ensuring a smooth process from initiation to completion.
- Handle a diverse range of requisitions, both union and non-union, covering positions from administrative to senior leadership levels.
- Conduct comprehensive intake discussions to fully grasp the requirements of the roles being filled.
- Advise hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques, best practices, and current market trends affecting recruitment.
- Identify and implement the most efficient and cost-effective sourcing strategies.
- Draft and publish internal and external job advertisements to attract qualified candidates.
- Actively cultivate talent pools through networking, social media engagement, and utilizing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Extend offers to successful candidates and negotiate employment terms.
- Provide training and support for ATS users as necessary.
- Develop talent acquisition strategies and plans for various recruitment initiatives.
- A degree or diploma/certificate in Human Resources or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a corporate recruitment environment; experience in high-volume agency recruitment is preferred.
- Familiarity with recruitment in a unionized setting and understanding of collective agreements is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights, and labor relations as they pertain to recruitment.
- Experience with national recruitment and awareness of provincial differences.
- Background in recruiting for healthcare and clinical positions is a significant asset.
- Ability to devise innovative recruitment strategies and directly source candidates for challenging roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with an ATS; familiarity with Njoyn is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening capabilities.
- French language proficiency is an asset but not mandatory.
- Highly developed organizational and time-management skills.
- Capacity to work independently while also being an effective team player in a recruitment context.
