We are seeking dedicated individuals to enhance our Ottawa BAS team.Role Summary: We are in search of experienced BAS technicians who will work closely with our project team and report to the BAS Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver innovative BAS solutions to our clients within the Construction and Operations Department. Participate in site commissioning, point-to-point verifications, troubleshooting, and the startup of BAS, HVAC equipment, and lighting control systems under the guidance of seasoned BAS professionals. Support project and service documentation efforts. Understand and adhere to Ainsworth's Safe Work and Health & Safety Policies. Take initiative in mastering HVAC and DDC fundamentals, along with the Schneider Electric BAS product range. Demonstrate knowledge of HVAC and DDC principles, as well as familiarity with Schneider Electric, Trane, Siemens, Automated Logic, or other BACnet BAS products and devices. Complete Schneider Electric product-specific training prior to factory training. Exhibit a working knowledge of BAS networking and system integration.
Required Qualifications: Over 5 years of experience in a BAS technician capacity. Possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for insurance coverage through Ainsworth. Successfully pass security screenings as mandated by Ainsworth's government clients and/or be bondable. Reliability clearance is a plus. Proficient in English, both written and verbal; fluency in French is advantageous. Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and product documentation is essential. Graduate of a post-secondary technical or engineering program. Competent in Microsoft Office, including Visio or scripted programming languages. Capable of performing medium physical duties, including standing for extended periods in a construction setting, climbing ladders, and working at heights (fall arrest protection provided). Occasional travel may be required, with Ainsworth reimbursing travel expenses, including mileage.
