Job Summary:

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is seeking a Co-op Student to assist with planning and development initiatives. As a Co-op Student, you will work closely with our planning team to investigate and analyze community planning issues, support statutory planning, and conduct research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on community and regional development factors, including physical, economic, social, geographic, and technical aspects.
  • Assist in the preparation of planning documents and communications by conducting background research and document preparation.
  • Conduct field investigations and studies related to land use and development issues, under the direction of staff.
  • Collect and compile background research for statutory plans, land use bylaws, and property file reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Registered in a Co-op Program.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clarify and convey information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively with colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, or visualization software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
