Position Overview

The role of a Patient Care Assistant is vital in providing essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. This position involves assisting patients with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary (high) school education is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the use of bedpans and other hygiene equipment.
  • Support patients in weighing, lifting, turning, and positioning.
  • Facilitate communication by delivering messages, reports, and specimens across departments.
  • Administer specific medical procedures such as suppositories and enemas.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies.
  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Transport patients between different care facilities as needed.
  • Respond to patient call signals to assess their needs.
  • Collect necessary specimens for medical testing.
  • Prepare patients for surgical procedures by ensuring cleanliness and readiness of operative areas.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • This position is physically demanding and requires bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Experience Requirements
