Empower Simcoe Youth Worker Opportunity

Empower Simcoe is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to join our team. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting youth with intellectual disabilities or complex needs to engage with their peers in a social setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Youth Engagement Facilitator in planning and implementing activities and programs for youth with disabilities.
  • Lead a small group of youths with disabilities in various community, social, recreational, and work activities.
  • Develop and implement plans to assist youth in achieving their individual goals and expectations.
  • Promote inclusion and healthy relationships among group members and between group members and their peers and/or community members.
  • Administer medication as outlined in each participant's individual medication direction form.
  • Document supports provided and update care plans as necessary.
  • Participate in camp experiences with youth, as scheduled and required.
Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary school and enrollment in post-secondary education, social services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children and youth, with a preference for experience working with youth with exceptionalities.
  • A valid class G driver's license and reliable transportation is an asset.
  • Current valid certificates in CPR and First Aid would be considered an asset.
