Job Summary

NSB Omega is seeking a skilled Instrument and Electrical Technician to join our team in a major oil and gas project in Alberta, Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. System Testing and Troubleshooting: Test and repair electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  3. Documentation and Verification: Document and verify problems and actions taken to ensure accurate records and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Team Collaboration: Support and encourage team effort between operations, engineering, and projects groups to ensure seamless project execution.
  2. Quality and Timely Completion: Ensure the quality and timely completion of work scheduled by the Maintenance Program.
  3. Technical Skills Development: Develop personal and team technical skills to stay up-to-date with the latest regulations, equipment, methods, and technologies.
  4. Communication and Training: Attend and instruct technical meetings to keep instrument and electrical technicians informed of the latest specifications, codes, procedures, and technology.
  5. Open Communication: Develop and maintain open communications on electrical and control issues with co-workers.
  6. Technical Support: Provide technical support to other technicians for maintenance and troubleshooting on company's instrument and electrical systems.
  7. Management of Change: Generate Management of Change requests (MOCs) on electrical and control-related equipment and installation and follow up with installation inspections consistent with Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) Element 3.
  8. Installation and Inspection: Construct, monitor, and inspect new installations for their consistency with the mission and recommend upgrades as necessary.
  9. Lead Position Support: Act as a stand-in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead position as needed.
Requirements
  1. Education: Associates degree preferably enhanced by related technical school courses.
  2. Experience: Experience in maintaining electrical systems and Instruments and Controls in processing plant or offshore production plant.
Technical Skills
  1. Regulations and Standards: Familiarity with regulations applicable to the operations of oil and gas facilities.
  2. OIMS Systems: Knowledge of OIMS systems, related manuals, and procedures.
  3. Computing Skills: Possesses computing skills.

  1. Safety Orientation: Safety-oriented individual.
  2. Communication Skills: Good communication skills.
  3. Organizational Skills: Good organizational and reporting skills.
