About the Role

We're seeking an Accounting Student to join our team at PCL Construction. As an Accounting Student, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a supportive work environment that promotes personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Full Cycle Accounts Payable: Process and manage accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payment to suppliers.
• Entering Invoices into the PCL Accounting System: Accurately enter invoices into the PCL accounting system, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Inter-Company Invoicing: Process and manage inter-company invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment to other PCL entities.
• Courier and Phone Costing: Accurately record and manage courier and phone expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Running and Updating Various Reports: Prepare and update various reports, including accounts payable and accounts receivable reports.
• Reconciling Supplier Statements: Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Visa Card Reconciliations: Perform regular visa card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Preparing Accounts Receivable Report: Prepare and update the accounts receivable report, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Weekly Cheque Printing: Print and distribute weekly cheques to employees and vendors.
• Client Progress Billings: Accurately record and manage client progress billings, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Subcontract Administration: Manage subcontract administration, including processing and managing subcontractor invoices and payments.
• Creation and Management of Ad Hoc Reports: Prepare and update ad hoc reports as required, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Miscellaneous Support to Accounting Team: Provide miscellaneous support to the accounting team, including data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Accounting diploma/degree program.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to perform multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions

• This role may require nightshifts from time to time; the successful applicant must be willing to work at night.
• Public transportation is not available for this position so the successful applicant must have their own vehicle.
