Part-time position: 8pm-4pm, 16 hours biweekly, weekends only

The role of the Resident Engagement Assistant is vital within our community, as it significantly influences the lives of residents and fosters meaningful human connections.

As a Resident Engagement Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include:


• Cultivating a vibrant culture that promotes resident wellness, choice, and active participation


• Designing and executing programs that align with established guidelines and brand standards


• Innovating and testing new resident experiences and programs under the guidance of the Resident Engagement Manager (REM)


• Utilizing technology to create, enhance, and deliver both in-suite and group programming that engages residents within the community


• Assisting with The Market in accordance with guidelines, while identifying opportunities to better meet residents' needs under the REM's direction


• Supporting the volunteer initiative for both in-person and remote volunteers, including student internships, under the REM's supervision


• Adhering to the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Essential qualifications include:


• A degree or diploma in Gerontology, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Health Promotion, or Health Sciences


• Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of motivational principles and health, wellness, and leisure concepts


• Certification to instruct land group fitness, and, if necessary, aquatic fitness for seniors through a recognized organization, or a willingness to obtain certification within the first 60 days of employment


• A valid driver's license and/or special class license (or the willingness and ability to acquire one within the first 6 months of employment) along with a clean driving record


• Current certification in CPR and First Aid


• Familiarity with the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act


• Proficiency in Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as virtual communication technologies such as Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime
