Job Title: Tool and Die Maker

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team at Wegu Manufacturing Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating machine tools, inspecting final products, and instructing apprentices. They will also be required to program CNC machine tools, read and interpret blueprints, and lay out, shape, and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders
  • Inspect final products to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Instruct apprentices in the use of machine tools and manufacturing processes
  • Program CNC machine tools to produce complex parts and components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements
  • Lay out, shape, and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic, and other materials from blueprints, models, or templates
  • Position, secure, measure, and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining
  • Set up and operate electrical discharge machines (EDM)
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Hand-eye coordination and ability to work with precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software
  • Ability to work overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with gauge blocks, jigs, and fixtures
  • Knowledge of metal cutting, forming, or bending dies
  • Experience with compound or progressive transfer dies
  • Knowledge of forging dies and extrusion dies
