POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Finance division within Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) operates as a worldwide entity with localized engagement, delivering a consistent array of services through streamlined processes and standardized practices, utilizing production hubs. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) sector serves as the exclusive source of actionable financial insights and reports to aid GBIS and Société Générale leadership in managing the financial outcomes across the Americas. In this capacity, FPA aggregates financial data for management reporting, oversees the Americas Budget cycle, formulates forecasts, conducts financial trend evaluations, certifies GBIS expenditures, contributes to monthly closing activities, ensures compliance with performance management standards, and analyzes and communicates GBIS financial results to senior executives.

Key Responsibilities in the Americas:

  • Ensure the accuracy and promptness of GBIS financial statements and dashboards.
  • Support GBIS leadership and all Business Lines with actionable insights on financial performance and forecasts.
  • Facilitate financial communication and presentation of forecasts and trends.
  • Coordinate the Americas Budget cycle and assist in the forecasting process.

DAILY TASKS:

  • Generate and deliver actionable reports and analyses to assist GBIS support functions management in their financial oversight.
  • Act as a primary contact for all financial aggregates with regional and local management in Canada, driving local performance assessments.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team in New York, along with the Accounts Payables (AP) team and the legal entity controllers in Canada, to ensure optimal quality in report production and data input for FP&A processes.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial management reports, including gap analyses of budget trajectories against previous years, forecasts, and prior strategic plans to business partners.
  • Conduct financial reporting, including variance analysis of actuals versus budget, coordinating the forecasting exercise, providing insights on key cost drivers, explaining monthly results, and presenting reports to key stakeholders.
  • Present monthly results and cost trends to all relevant business lines.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines, efficiently organizing and prioritizing tasks.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Knowledge in Accounting, Budgeting, Forecasting, Reporting, and Data Management.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and communication abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks and adapting to a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, PowerBI report creation, data management, Power Query data manipulation, and Alteryx.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Exhibit an energetic and determined attitude.
  • Willingness to engage with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential as this role involves regular collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States.
