The selected candidate will be responsible for steering product-related business decisions throughout the product lifecycle. This role encompasses complete ownership of product strategy implementation in the market, along with accountability for monthly sales targets and product profitability. The incumbent will serve as a key liaison among Sales, Supply Chain Management, Service, and Channel for all product-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product-related business decisions for Samsung Canada, focusing on marketing communications, finance, supply chain management, and collaboration with headquarters. Responsibilities include product lineup strategy, customer engagement, promotional planning, product launches, training, merchandising collaboration, distribution strategy, pricing, market share analysis, forecasting, inventory management, and market research.
  • Foster collaboration and innovation with the sales team throughout the product lifecycle, including SKU lineup, launches, and coordination with the Channel Manager on distribution and end-of-life management.
  • Monitor key accounts with a focus on sales performance and inventory levels, providing actionable plans to leverage market trends and address challenges.
  • Maintain regular communication with headquarters to achieve category objectives.
  • Build relationships with U.S. counterparts to share best practices.
  • Manage category financials, including product line P&L, forecasting, pricing simulations, and monitoring historical trends against management plans.
  • Oversee partner programs, pricing setups, promotional submissions, and marketing initiatives requiring approvals.
  • Forecast market size, segments, and share to meet divisional strategic KPIs.
  • Present monthly promotional plans for approval from management.
  • Align with management on pricing matters throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze channel and market feedback to inform product category strategy.
  • Ensure accountability for product forecasts and collaborate with supply chain management on planning to meet financial objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews and category strategy presentations, covering financials, historical data, market performance, and promotional plans.
  • Position products to achieve strategic objectives through market analysis and competitive landscape evaluation, recommending adjustments as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to engage effectively with distribution, retail, and reseller partners, as well as local and remote business managers.
  • Competence in planning, organizing, and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and projects.
  • Ability to analyze market information and develop strategic business plans.
  • Negotiation skills with vendors and customers on marketing initiatives.
  • Capacity to motivate and guide sales performance management.
  • Ability to define objectives and provide technical sales and marketing guidance.
  • Skills in long-term and mid-term business planning.
  • Budget management and ROI determination capabilities.
  • Proven track record of achieving results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Product Manager role preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the mobile industry preferred.
  • Background in mobile handsets, tablets, wearables, or IoT is an asset.
