About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technical Assistant to join our team at Smoky Lake Pharmacy and Integrated Healthcare. As a Pharmacy Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prescription Accuracy: Verify the accuracy of prescription information to ensure patient safety and compliance.
  • Client Data Management: Enter client information into our database system to maintain accurate records.
  • Medication Preparation: Prepare medications for clients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Measurement and Billing: Take body or limb measurements of patients and bill third-party insurers for services rendered.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products.
  • Compounding: Compound oral solutions, ointments, and creams as required.
Work Environment

As a Pharmacy Technical Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, interacting with clients and healthcare professionals on a daily basis. You will be required to work in a rural area, in a pharmacy or drugstore setting.

Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a pharmacy or related field.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, and organized.
