Position Overview:

The International Marketing Strategist plays a pivotal role in the Student Recruitment leadership team, reporting directly to the Manager of Student Recruitment. This position is responsible for overseeing the Peer Recruitment Assistant team, providing essential operational support and guidance to achieve international student recruitment goals through effective leadership, training, and coaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Manager of Student Recruitment to implement the Recruitment Strategy into actionable activities and priorities.
  • Organize work assignments and staff schedules for the Peer Recruitment Assistant team.
  • Offer operational assistance to the team during international recruitment initiatives.
  • Manage the hiring and training processes for new Peer Recruitment Assistant team members.
  • Conduct ongoing coaching and performance improvement discussions with team members.
  • Serve as the primary contact for escalations, inquiries, or concerns regarding Peer Recruitment initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders in various departments to ensure the seamless execution of recruitment activities.
  • Utilize existing data to create tailored marketing and branding experiences for target audiences.
  • Research and analyze market trends to inform recruitment projects and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with recruitment specialists and coordinators to support marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in and support international recruitment projects and initiatives.
  • Create and edit content for diverse platforms, including promotional materials, digital ads, and web properties.
  • Optimize digital marketing strategies to enhance ROI and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Lead the execution of comprehensive digital marketing plans, leveraging automation and AI across various platforms for advertising, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in managing complex projects while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Capable of working closely with clients and managing multiple projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of B2B and B2C marketing principles.
  • Excellent writing and content creation skills across various formats.
  • Ability to make informed decisions promptly, even with limited information.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Competent in developing team members through coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and a unionized work environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of program offerings and admissions processes.
  • In-depth understanding of international recruitment practices.
  • Strong intercultural communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a post-secondary marketing environment required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in international recruitment or business development is advantageous.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
  • Fluency in additional languages is beneficial.
  • Experience working with international agents or peer recruiters is an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and passport are required for potential international travel.
