Job Summary

The Maintenance Cleaner position at Veolia is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of Material Recycling Facility equipment for operation. This role requires a strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude to determine if equipment requires repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment is clean and ready for operation, including conveyors, motors, and other machinery.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as cleaning debris off scrapers, idlers, rollers, and bellypans.
  • Identify and report any equipment issues or damage to maintenance technicians.
  • Operate company-owned vehicles and equipment, and perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist in removing equipment guards and preparing equipment for maintenance technicians.
  • Input work orders into the SAP system to create new work requests.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial facility or maintenance role.
  • Previous experience in a process plant environment is an asset.
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate MS Office Suite.
  • Special training or certifications, such as confined space and rescue training, may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced industrial environment with rotating shifts and varying temperatures.
  • May be exposed to noise, fumes, odors, and chemicals.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Hours of Work:

The Maintenance Cleaner position is a permanent role with a 4 on 4 off rotating 12-hour night shift schedule, with a 30-minute lunch break. The average work week is 44 hours.
