The role of a Trucking Shunter Operator involves critical responsibilities in the transportation sector, ensuring the efficient movement of freight vehicles.

Education Requirements
  • No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the condition of vehicles and conduct thorough inspections of tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other essential equipment.
  • Execute brake adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all vehicle aspects.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch, relaying critical information.
  • Document cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) is mandatory.
Documentation Proficiency
  • Familiarity with driver logbooks.
  • Ability to complete inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
Equipment and Transportation
  • Experience with tractor-trailer units is essential.
Travel Requirements
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Weight Handling
