Position Overview

The role of a Field Operator in the oil and gas sector involves a variety of responsibilities focused on maintaining operational efficiency and safety in outdoor environments.

Education Requirements

No formal education such as a degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.

Work Environment

This position is primarily conducted in outdoor settings, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of rig areas.
  • Operate trucks for the transportation of materials and equipment necessary for well servicing.
Certifications and Training

Successful candidates will need to possess the following certifications:

  • Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) Basic Safety Orientation (BSO)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate
  • Confined Space Entry Training
  • Standard First Aid Certificate
Safety and Security

A basic security clearance is required for this position.

Travel Requirements

Candidates must be willing to travel, including for extended periods, as part of their job responsibilities.

Physical Demands

This role involves:

  • Repetitive tasks and handling of heavy loads.
  • Physical endurance, including a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
Weight Handling
